Quit Snacking

Quit Snacking

If you want to snack less it is super important that you eat enough. Snack cravings usually occur when you don’t eat enough to fill yourself. The proper amount of food to eat will differ for everyone, especially if you have a more active lifestyle or if you have a more sitting, less active lifestyle.

Spreading out your meals will also help you stop snacking. It is better to eat smaller portions throughout the day than 2 or 3 big meals a day. This will also help keep your metabolism active all day.

Create a plan for yourself, when are you going to eat what. Plan your snacks and meals in advance, if you do this then you are less likely to eat other random snacks.

Drink a lot of water, this will help because usually when you think you are hungry it means you are actually just thirsty. Water will also help eliminate cravings, so drink some water then ask yourself if you still want that snack.

If you do get the urge to snack then try snacking on something healthy for you. If you want something sweet eat fruit instead of candy. There are so many healthy alternatives to junk food snacks.

Also, hunger usually comes from being bored so if you do get hungry ask yourself if you are really hungry or if you are just bored. When you get the urge to snack, distract yourself. You can go for a walk, clean, read a book, really anything that will help you get your mind off of not doing anything.

There are so many ways to stop snacking, you just have to find what works best for you!
