Here are the official rules and regulations for TCF’s first pumpkin carving contest:
- This is a pumpkin CARVING contest NOT a painting contest. Pumpkins MUST be CARVED in order to be entered into the competition
- Can I hollow out my pumpkin before I get to the event? YES! This will be more conducive to some great carving as it leaves more time to carve and not just be squishing your arm elbow deep in pumpkin guts. Also, less mess!
- A clock will be set for 1 hour and 30 minutes, this is your carving time limit. After the 1 hour and 30 minutes is up you must place all your carving tools down and step away from the pumpkin.
- This will be done in teams of 2 which means only you and your partner can touch the pumpkin. No one else can touch it! You both need to participate!
- Scoring is as follows: Each individual on a team that has carved a pumpkin gets a token representing their vote for best pumpkin. You will place that token in the pumpkin you think is the best carved. YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN TEAMS PUMPKIN.
- Most importantly, this event is BYOP (BRING YOUR OWN PUMPKIN) and BYOCT (BRING YOUR OWN CARVING TOOLS). We will be providing stencils but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you would like.
If these rules seem harsh or say, I don’t know, spooky, good. This isn’t just for fun people, this is to win a NOBULL goodie of your choice for under $50 for each teammate. Runners up will get to pie the coach of their choice in the face for each teammate. If we do not have such harsh rules what would be have? Chaos, we would have chaos. HAPPY CARVING TCF!!!!
