With the holidays coming up a lot of people are going to wonder how to keep their nutrition in a good spot! We want to provide y’all with some ways to eat healthy over the holidays and during thanksgiving!
Healthy Options
One easy way to help maintain your nutrition during this holiday season is to try to load up on vegetables! You can have a salad with your meal or even try to bring some sort of roasted vegetable to eat with your meal like brussels sprouts or broccoli. You can also do roasted carrots!
Another easy way to help your nutrition during the holidays is to get smaller servings of the creamy casseroles and desserts. Get larger servings of the healthier items like the vegetables, fruits and proteins and try to limit the amount of fats, carbs, empty calories and sweets that you eat.
Portion control is another important part of making sure we stay healthy during the holidays. Don’t over fill your plate and don’t stuff your belly until you have a belly ache. You can even try to make healthier desserts like a fruit salad or a fruit based dessert that doesn’t have a lot of added sugar, focusing more on natural sugar would be a great option as well!
You can also focus on mainly drinking water! Stay away from the sugary drinks, sodas, alcohol or any drinks that have excess calories in it that you don’t need. Water is a great way to help you stay hydrated and help you keep your nutrition intact!
