Attention to Detail

Kelly Starrett is a physical therapist who has his CFL2 and has been in the CrossFit space for 20 years. He started CF in 2004 and opened one of the first CF gyms in 2005. In the CrossFit Journal “Attention To Detail”, he explains that attention to detail is crucial for providing effective guidance and ensuring the safety and progress of your athletes. He goes on to say, in his experience, CrossFit does not creat injury for the most part. CrossFit in turn is the most effective way to find flaws in human movement that has been learned throughout a lifetime of improper movement.

Throughout his discussion, he gives tips and techniques on how the coaching staff can improve in this aspect. First and foremost, focus on Technique. Pay close attention to the form and technique of our athletes during exercises and correcting improper form early can prevent injuries and improve performance over time. From there, we provide personalized Feedback.  Every member is different so offering individualized feedback to each athlete based on their specific needs and goals shows that you are attentive to their progress and invested in their development. Last but not least, we monitor progress. By tracking the progress of our athletes over time, we are able to tailor future training sessions effectively.

Our coach’s main goal is to find flaws in everyone’s technique and form so we can prevent injury and/or improve each member to become strong, healthy and happy.
